Regeneration of Spent Activated Carbon
Chemical contamination of air or water from industrial processes causes air pollution and water pollution respectively. The use of activated carbon is one of the most widely used alternatives to treating of those contaminants. Because activated carbon has a porous structure, a high surface area and has the ability to adsorb various chemicals well, especially organic compounds and some heavy metals. However, when the period of use has passed, the adsorption capacity of the activated carbon decreases until it cannot be used again due to the complete adsorption of the surface or the pores, causing quality deterioration and transforming into industrial waste or known as Spent Activated Carbon. This type of industrial waste management was originally a landfill method. But, because activated carbon is used from wastewater treatment or polluted air. It is classified as a hazardous and non-biodegradable waste, coupled with more stringent environmental laws. This makes landfills more difficulty and costly to manage. Most importantly, it creates environmental problems. Therefore, it is a good choice for management. In addition to reducing industrial waste, the used activated carbon can also be recycled and reused as new, thus reducing industrial costs.
Right Reactivation Public Company Limited, as a Type 106 factory license, operates the business of regeneration of used activated carbon for reuse. Therefore, the company plays an important role in the management of spent activated carbon. With a modern recycling process which is rotary kiln technology consists of two main parts: 1.) kiln and conveying and screening system. 2.) Air pollution treatment system that can support exhaust gases treatment. It is therefore considered a system that is environmentally friendly. Regenerated Activated Carbon has the same quality as Fresh Activated Carbon. With the determination to maintain product quality and to develop better processes, as well as to focus on the environment and employee health, the company has adopted the ISO standard system in the organization in 3 systems in 3 areas: Quality Management ISO9001:2015 Environmental Management System ISO14001:2015 and Occupational Health and Safety Management System ISO45001:2018. In addition, the production process is certified Halal to support the recovery of used activated carbon from the food industry.
The Company provides used activated carbon regeneration services from various industries, including petroleum and petrochemical industries, food and beverage industry, automotive industry, etc. Over the past 10 years, the company has treated more than ten thousand tons of activated carbon. Contributes to reducing industrial waste that must be landed or incinerated. This creates reuse, promotes a Circular Economy (CE) and helps reduce industrial costs. The reduction in imports has a positive effect on the country's trade balance.
